How Are You Today?

Why Relationship Counselling?

“How am I doing today?” is one question we frequently overlook. Feeling overwhelmed is unavoidable in our fast-paced lives of highs and lows. But do we take a pause, and ask ourselves “Am I okay?” “Do I need to pause?” “What can I do to feel better?”. Feeling overburdened, tired, distracted, exhausted, and having disrupted eating and sleeping patterns are all possible symptoms of stress, anxiety, or depression. A moderate amount of stressors and anxiety are always beneficial to us as it motivates us to work hard. A low mood might occasionally be helpful since it reminds you to take a break from your tasks and unwind. However, if these emotions persist to the point where they become overwhelming, you may seek counseling for depression and anxiety.

When you deal with conditions like depression, anxiety, and stress, a common problem is a reduced level of mental and physical well-being. Not only can this affect your concentration and attention span, but over time, this may make it difficult for you to work and complete your daily tasks or be present in your relationships. You might also notice a drop in productivity and may not feel like “yourself”.

Counselling for depression, anxiety and stress is frequently combined with other concerns such as lack of self-confidence, self-doubt, and poor decision-making abilities. Stress management counseling and therapy will not only help you improve your cognitive abilities but it will also enable you to increase your motivation by breaking your goals into smaller achievable milestones. As you progress through your sessions, your counsellor addresses these concerns one at a time, implementing lifestyle modifications such as increasing sleep hygiene and building healthy thought patterns to bring about holistic change.

How it Works

How Relationship Counselling Works

In relationship counselling, a trained therapist helps couples or individuals:

  • Identify underlying issues: The therapist assists in uncovering deep-rooted problems that may be affecting the relationship, such as past traumas, insecurities, or unspoken expectations.
  • Improve communication: A major focus is often on teaching effective communication skills, so partners can express themselves clearly and listen actively to one another.
  • Develop problem-solving strategies: The therapist helps couples navigate disagreements by offering tools for negotiation, compromise, and conflict resolution.
  • Rebuild trust: If trust has been damaged, the therapist works with the couple to develop strategies for rebuilding it through honesty, transparency, and forgiveness.
  • Enhance emotional intimacy: Relationship counselling often includes exercises and discussions aimed at deepening emotional connection, rekindling passion, and increasing empathy and understanding.
